Rendering and lighting in Mantra

This is a scene rendered in Mantra/Houdini with PBR. Same scene three light scenarios.

Mantra Houdini Glass

Here are some recent test renderings for glass in Houdini. As Houdini is my main 3D package I tried to match results to those often seen on Vray and Arnold pages, but doing all in Houdini with Mantra.
Some have caustic pass for accuracy and some are without.

The Golden Compass texture work

Years ago I worked as a texturing  artist for The Golden Compass movie.
It was my first big project and I learned a lot during those months at Cinesite.
Zeppelin textures throughout the film and landing pavilion matte are my work.
This was before Mari and all the work was done with PS, Maya and Bodypaint.

MAD MAX revisited

Since Mad Max is being made again, I dug out this old concept I did years ago.
Once  back in Germany I had asked a colleague to give me some kind of a task or  subject for a concept practise.
He said," ... why don't you make a desert buggy vehicle something like the mad max buggy. "
This was the result and I was quite happy with it. At the time I was studying lots of Scott Robertson drawing videos and books, which shows in this one I hope. After all these years I think it does hold up, still.

WINTER CASTLE-New matte painting

New matte painting I completed in June, currently I am on a project as matte painter at DIGIC in Budapest.
If I knew August will be this hot I would paint more snow into it :)
